The Hunter

I’m hunted, I’m sought, I’m chased
I flee from the Hunter
I hide, I run with haste
Looking for a rock to hide under

The Hunter, implacable
He hunts me, and others
Escape, we’re incapable
His quarries have never escaped him

Some accept it, others don’t
Some welcome him, not me
Not resist him? I won’t
I’ll evade the Hunter if I can

I dread him, the Hunter
He catches everyone,
What comes after? I don’t know.
I dread to think what it may be

When will the Hunter catch me?
I don’t know when he will
Some try to outwit him
I hope they find out how to escape
