Of what worth are the worthless worm’s thoughts?
Of what weight the mite’s miseries?
Who cares what struggles the ant has fought
When he’ll be crushed by careless boots?
What is a mouse to the great eagle
That slays its prey without a thought?
What harm is a flea to a beagle,
Or a minnow to hungry sharks?
How does one fight fearsome predators?
When they outnumber little prey?
The ones that fight in their endless wars
But swarm on those that disobey?
When cornered, how does one keep hope,
When hiding deep inside a hole?
When hope is gone, how is one to cope
When evil always has control?
I’ll fight the evils regardless
Though I fear I’m only harmless
