All My Years

Grateful am I that I was born,

Even if I came without my consent

I quickly fell in love with this fine world

Excited I was to join it

I loved the first round ‘round the sun

And I thank the heavens for each one after

I’ve had my ups here, I’ve had my downs here

In this flawed, but fixable world

I’ve made mistakes, I’ve had rough spots

But I’ve dusted off, and I’ve learned better

Each drop has let me soar among the stars

And I’ve lived to see only some years of life

Yet another year I’ve had, grateful, hopeful

I look ahead to the years I hope for

But I will live this one fully, thankful

For all my years, and hopeful for many more
